Hello Gabriel
I live in Sydney, Australia & I love your Jewish Calendar. However, just today, it started playing up & won’t allow me to put in my city. As I start typing in Sydney, the CalJ just closes. I deleted it & then reloaded it but it still does the same thing.
I notice it works ok on my iPad – it’s just this new issue with my IPhone. I hope you can help me to solve this problem.
Shavua tov & best regards
Rob
Hi Rob,
Thank you very much for your kind message.
Many users did experience what you’re describing, on iPhone 5s with my latest update a few days ago.
It had been a long time (April) since my previous release because I have been more focused on the development of the Android version of CalJ. I finally had some time lately to implement a feature which many users had been requesting for a long time (Shabbat Candles Reminder), and therefore I compiled a new binary.
Now, the crash problem seems to be due to some changes Apple made in their compiler, related to the arm64 architecture of the iPhone 5s model, and which required some modifications in my code.
As you can see, it does not crash on iPad, iPhone 4 nor iPhone 5c.
I have already posted moments ago a new corrective update to Apple. It is pending review there. Expect some time (3-7 days) for them to publish it online on the AppStore.
Thank you again for using CalJ, and for your patience.
Best regards,
Gabriel.
I am having the same exact problem. Will the update be a separate App? Do we need to reload the App?
Love Calj. I travel for business and I use it all over the world.
Dear Solomon,
The update will have the exact same form as any AppStore update: the same CalJ application in a higher version number (namely: 2.6.2).
As I said, I have researched a solution as quick as I could, and I submitted to Apple my new binary no later than Sunday evening. It is now in their hand, as usual, in compliance with their regular process of reviewing every binary submission before they decide to push it online on the AppStore.
It should become available in a few days ב”ה.
Thank you for using CalJ!
